Baku hosted the first meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Business Council under the joint organization of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AZPROMO, and the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan. Government officials of both countries, as well as 60 entrepreneurs working in the food industry, textiles, construction, logistics, transport, etc. attended the event.
The Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev spoke about the favorable business and investment environment available in our country, noting that the Business Council established between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will contribute to the expansion of trade and economic partnership between our countries and the development of ties between business circles.
Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh Chamber of International Commerce Ayan Yerenov emphasized the great interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in various sectors of the economy and the presence of great potential, calling on entrepreneurs from both countries to actively cooperate.
Speaking at the Business Council’s meeting, the Chairman of SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov noted the role of entrepreneurs in strengthening business relations between our countries, and stressed the significance of the Business Council in intensifying direct ties between Azerbaijani and Kazakh businessmen implementing joint projects. Orkhan Mammadov also informed about the support and services provided by SMBDA to entrepreneurs.
As part of the event, a number of documents were signed between state institutions and private companies of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The meeting reached the signature of Memorandum on the Establishment of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Business Council, the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between AZPROMO and the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, including the Cooperation Agreement between the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, Memorandum of Understanding between SMBDA and Kazakh Joint-Stock Company "GazTrade" Trade Policy Development Center, Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between GazTrade, Taiga Trade and Maslo-Del for the amount of USD 2 million, Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between GazTrade, Cool Infinity and Foodcity Alliance LLC for the amount of USD 9 million, as well as the Partnership Agreement between the Kazakh "KTZ Express Hong Kong" and the Azerbaijani "ADY Container", and the minutes of the 1st meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Business Council
The event continued with bilateral meetings of entrepreneurs.
