On September 16, Shusha Turkish Business Forum was held in the city of Shusha, dedicated to the restoration and development of the Garabagh region. The Forum was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the Organization of Turkish States and the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event was attended by representatives of the permanent members of the Organization of Turkish States (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan) and state institutions of the observer member Hungary, as well as various organizations and the diplomatic corps, and businessmen.
The Forum aimed at further deepening economic, business and investment relations among the Turkish states, promoting a dialogue between entrepreneurs, and presenting the economic and investment potential of the Garabagh region to foreign businessmen.
The event began with a minute of silence in memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
At the Forum, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov, President of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey M.Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, Chairman of SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Kubanichbek Kasimaliev and Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Farhodjon Toshpulatov shared their views on trade, economic and investment cooperation among the Turkic states, the participation of business organizations of Turkic-speaking countries in the restoration and development of liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and the possibilities of cooperation in this area and public private partnership.
A special meeting on “Investment Opportunities of Garabagh and East Zangazur Economic Region”, held as part of the event, heard speeches by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha region Aydin Karimov, Chairman of the Board of the Garabagh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev, Head of the Exports and Investments Promotion Agency – AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev, and Chairman of the Board of the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones Elshad Nuriyev.
As part of the event, bilateral meetings were held on green infrastructure, agriculture, food, renewable energy, textiles, tourism, mining, and ICT sectors.
The Forum reached an Agreement between the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Business Council, and approved the Roadmap for the implementation of joint activities between the Entrepreneurship Development Agency of Uzbekistan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). Memorandums of Understanding were also signed between the public union "Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan" and the Turkish "Kut Trading and Marketing Limited Company", and between Baku Textile Factory LLC and the Turkish "Inmak Group of Companies".
The Forum participants also visited the Shusha Castle, Jidir Duzu, the Vagif museum and tomb complex, and got familiar with the busts of famous Azerbaijani figures who were shot during the occupation.
