A meeting was held on " Development of Entrepreneurship in Nakhchivan: challenges and prospects" within the framework of the visit of the delegation of state institutions and entrepreneurs under the leadership of Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.
Fuad Najafli, the Plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke at the meeting and said the large-scale socio-economic reforms carried out in our country under the leadership of the head of state created the basis for the start of a new stage in the development of Nakhchivan. From this point of view, the priorities are such areas as improving management, increasing transparency, efficient use of economic resources, and development of the private sector in Nakhchivan. It is important to hold discussions with the joint participation of representatives of government agencies and the private sector on the mentioned issues, to find solutions to difficulties, and to support activities and initiatives in this direction. It was pointed out that decisive steps will be taken to expand entrepreneurship, and effective measures will be taken to eliminate shortcomings in this area.
Making a speech at the meeting, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that against the background of global challenges, sustainable economic development and macroeconomic stability have been ensured in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the territorial integrity of our country was restored as a result of the Great Victory, and the economic potential increased. The business and investment environment in our country is constantly being enhanced, the legislation is being improved, and the state-business dialogue is expanding. Ensuring more convenient and systematic access to financial resources for entrepreneurs, introduction of tax, social and other benefits, improvement of investment stimulation mechanisms and other measures create favorable conditions for further expansion of entrepreneurial activities. The measures implemented in accordance with the priority of accelerating the balanced development of our regions within the targeted state programs cover all our regions, including Nakhchivan. A program of socio-economic development and strategic projects of Nakhchivan are being prepared in this direction according to the instructions of the head of state. These projects will create new jobs that will serve to complete the economic development chain. It was pointed out that, effective use of Nakhchivan's rich resources, mining industry, tourism, trade, transport and logistics, as well as human potential, strengthening of business according to modern requirements, increasing the export potential of the region and other measures are planned for the sustainability of the economy and the further improvement of the population's level of well-being. In addition to all the above, the opening of the Zangezur corridor will turn Nakhchivan into an important transport hub, and will create conditions for the further growth of Azerbaijan's role as an international logistics center.
It was emphasized that solving difficulties in the socio-economic sphere, especially in the private sector, is one of the main tasks in Nakhchivan. At the same time, the opening of branches of financial institutions operating in the republic in Nakhchivan, expanding the scope of application of preferential credit, guarantee and other support mechanisms, creating conditions for Nakhchivan entrepreneurs to use concessions and privileges, establishing their cooperation with KOBIA, AZPROMO and other institutions, as well as other development and improvement measures are of special importance. It is important to organize the joint and coordinated activities of specialized institutions in this direction.
The Prime Minister of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Sabuhi Mammadov, emphasized the importance of reforms in terms of increasing profitability in various areas of the economy of the Autonomous Republic, improving and expanding activities of business entities, increasing export-oriented and competitive product production, transport and transit opportunities, strengthening trade relations with neighboring countries, especially with Turkey, implementing mutually beneficial projects, energy exchange, simplifying customs transit procedures and achieving other goals.
Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Tapdig Aliyev, informed about the current situation in the economic field in Nakhchivan, the economic potential of the region, the measures implemented in the areas of economic activity and the business environment.
Discussions were held at the meeting on the issues faced by the private sector in Nakhchivan and the upcoming challenges, as well as proposals from entrepreneurs were heard.
The exhibition hall of the Nakhchivan Business Center was inspected, and the activities of several manufacturing enterprises were familiarized after the event.
