The pilot phase of the "4SI Academy," jointly implemented by the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) under the Ministry of Economy, the Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education, and the U.S.-based company "Coursera," has been completed. Over the course of a year, 10,000 registered participants gained free access to the "Coursera" online education platform in stages. Participants enrolled in more than 32,000 courses, with over 4,000 international certificates awarded to those who successfully completed the training programs.
The project's objective is to support the development of digital skills in the country, enhance knowledge in advanced technologies, and contribute to preparing a skilled workforce for the labor market. The offered courses are categorized into areas such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, career readiness, and language skills. Participants were given access to nearly 800 courses from prestigious universities like Yale, Duke, Michigan, London, Illinois, and Virginia, as well as companies like Microsoft, IBM, Meta, and Google. The courses, typically 4-6 weeks long, include video lectures, assignments, and tests.
It should be noted that no age or other restrictions were imposed on those wishing to access the Coursera online education platform for free. Ensuring lifelong learning is among the project's goals. Participants who successfully complete the courses receive internationally recognized certificates from Coursera. The most popular course among 4SI Academy users was "AI for Everyone" offered by DeepLearning.AI, with 3,500 participants enrolled. Additionally, IBM's course "What is Data Science?" and SUNY's (State University of New York) "Blockchain Basics" course were each utilized by 3,000 participants.
The project is planned to continue as a national program.
