Expanding economic cooperation with Belgium discussed

First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev has accepted Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Azerbaijan Michel Peetermans.

“Azerbaijan's relations with the countries of the European Union, including the Kingdom of Belgium, are developing and mutual official visits and negotiations are of great importance in expanding economic cooperation. Cooperation is being strengthened in various sectors of the economy, including in the pharmaceutical industry and agriculture, and there are opportunities for Belgian companies to be involved in green energy projects in our liberated territories, as well as in the Alat Free Economic Zone, the Araz Valley Economic Zone and Aghdam Industrial Parks", the Deputy Minister said.

Voicing that Belgium attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan, Ambassador Michel Peetermans shared his vision of new areas of cooperation and the potential of joint initiatives.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the organization of the Belgian trade mission in Azerbaijan scheduled for November this year, on mutual investments, etc.
