At the meeting held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, issues related to expanding investment opportunities between the World Bank and the private sector have been discussed.
Within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with Valérie Levkov, the Vice President for Infrastructure at the World Bank Group.
During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the results of the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank Group. The sides highlighted the importance of the infrastructure projects being implemented in our country in terms of economic development and sustainable urbanization.
During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on supporting the development of the infrastructure in Azerbaijan and the region, using the financial instruments of the World Bank to promote private sector financing, as well as opportunities for cooperation in potential urbanization projects. It was emphasized at the meeting that the implementation of the projects relevant for SDGs will contribute significantly to the economic and social development of the region.
