Trade Representative of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation

In accordance with the tasks set by the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 26, 2017 "On the Appointment of Trade Representatives in the Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan Abroad", trade representatives are appointed in foreign countries.

In February 2017, Ruslan Aliyev was appointed Azerbaijan's Trade Representative in the Russian Federation.

The Trade Representative in the Russian Federation has an important role to play in developing trade and economic cooperation between our countries, expanding non-oil exports, promoting the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, a favorable business and investment environment, and attracting investments from the Russian Federation.

R.Aliyev with extensive experience in this field studied International Law at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and has a PhD in Economics. R.Aliyev took positions at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia, in the Division of Multilateral Cooperation on international Legal Issues of the Contractual and Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Foreign Investment Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, and leadership positions in the field of insurance in Azerbaijan and Russia. At present, in addition to being a Trade Representative of Azerbaijan, he is also the Head of the Chair of International Complex Problems of Nature Management and Ecology of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, which was established on the initiative of R.Aliyev. He is the author and co-author of a number of textbooks and articles in the field of energy, ecology and insurance. Fluent in English and Russian.
