The 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Germany High-Level Working Group on Trade and Investments was held in Berlin, the capital of Germany. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side, and Dominik Schnichels, director general of the Trade Department of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action from Germany side.
A discussion was held at the event on the strengthening of economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, the possibility of participation of German companies in the industrial parks created in our country, in the Alat Free Economic Zone, the development of cooperation in the field of alternative energy, transport, and the expansion of experience exchange.
The structural and institutional reforms implemented in the direction of the sustainable development of the economy of Azerbaijan, the goals until 2030, in the conditions where the world economy is undergoing severe trials were reported and it was brought to attention in the meeting that the work done increases the investment attractiveness of our country. It was emphasized that there is a great potential for strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Germany in the fields of trade, investment, entrepreneurship, transport, industry, and human resources and establishing partnerships in new directions. Business opportunities in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation were highlighted at the meeting, and German companies were invited to participate in infrastructure and investment projects.
Dominik Schnichels, director general of the Trade Department of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, noted that the issues discussed within the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Germany High-Level Working Group will be of great importance in the development of bilateral economic and trade relations, and shared his views on the prospects of expanding economic cooperation.
The 3rd meeting of the Supervisory Board of the German-Azerbaijani "Improving qualifications for managers" program was held and views were exchanged on the work done in Berlin within the framework of the visit to Germany. It was emphasized at the meeting that the German-Azerbaijani "Improving qualifications for managers" program, which has been successfully implemented since 2009, opens additional opportunities for development to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs, and it was brought to attention that more than 500 entrepreneurs and managers have benefited from the program.
The Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the "Adlershof" Technology Park during the visit.
