SME business skills and knowledge enhanced through advanced support methods

Entrepreneurs who have benefited from the capabilities of the SME Model Enterprise have achieved successful outcomes in the production process.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the business knowledge and skills of SMEs, 61 entrepreneurial entities have benefited from the resources of the SME Model Enterprise, operating at Azerbaijan Technical University since March of this year. These entrepreneurs have applied the knowledge and methods learned during training sessions at the model enterprise in their production processes, achieving successful outcomes such as increased productivity, time savings, and cost reduction. For instance, companies like "Caspian Textile" LLC, "GillMed" LLC, "GrandTek" LLC, and "Absheron-Saffron" LLC, which participated in training at the SME Model Enterprise, have reduced time loss percentages across various stages of production and minimized waste in both production and post-production stages.

The SME Model Enterprise was established by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). Engineers and technical staff from SMEs utilizing the training resources of the model enterprise enhance their skills in productivity improvement, time and cost savings, and more by applying what they learn in their own companies. This facility allows participants to observe the real business process firsthand, from initial planning to enterprise setup. Training instructors at the SME Model Enterprise cover and test the application of various strategies and models, including "Kaizen," "Six Sigma," "5S," and "KPI-KAI," among others.

Industrial production businesses can benefit from the services of the SME Model Enterprise. To access these services, entrepreneurs can apply through KOBIA or the social media accounts of the model enterprise. Applications submitted to the agency are added to a database, and eligible entrepreneurs are gradually enrolled in training programs. In addition to entrepreneurs, students specializing in relevant fields and teachers who instruct these subjects can also participate in the training sessions offered by the SME Model Enterprise. All services provided to entrepreneurs by the model enterprise are free of charge.

It should be noted that SMEs and those looking to start a business can benefit not only from the Model Enterprise but also from KOBIA's free services, including training sessions, consultancy, support for business plan development, and assistance with participation in international qualification courses.
