In the first half of 2022, 46 micro and small entrepreneurs applied to the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy to obtain a Startup certificate. Pursuant to the "Startup Identification Criteria", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 29, 2021, 16 microentrepreneurs received certificates from the Expert Council established in SMBDA. The Startup certificate was awarded to agriculture, agribusiness, mobile application, fintech, online platform, production lines containing innovative solutions, and e-commerce projects.
To date, the Startup certificate has been awarded to 44 micro and small businesses.
The "Startup" certificate exempts SMBs from income and profit tax on income from innovative activities for a period of 3 years from the date of receipt of the certificate.
Micro and small businesses whose projects are under development can apply to SMBDA for a Startup certificate. The application form and other required documents, as well as detailed information on the relevant criteria can be found at the following link: https://smb.gov.az/az/nav/startap-sehadetnamesi.
