Turkiye-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan business forum held

Within the framework of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Ankara, discussions were held on strengthening economic cooperation, expanding trade relations, and joint investment opportunities. Meetings were also conducted among entrepreneurs.

The Turkiye-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Business Forum was held in Ankara with the support of Turkiye’s Ministry of Trade, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade. The event was organized jointly by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB), the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and the Uzbekistan Investment Promotion Agency. Around 200 entrepreneurs from all three countries participated in the forum, representing sectors such as construction, tobacco production, food industry, pharmaceuticals, building materials, tourism, textiles, industry, logistics, and more.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, Turkiye’s Minister of Trade, Omer Bolat, and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, attended the business forum

The event highlighted the development of Azerbaijan’s relations with Turkiye and Uzbekistan, as well as potential joint projects. It was noted that, against the backdrop of geopolitical processes in the region, mutual partnership relations are further strengthening under the leadership of the heads of state. The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) plays a key role in enhancing cooperation. The Partnership Agreement on Digital Economy signed among member states during the 11th OTS Summit, the Karabakh Declaration signed at the informal Summit of the heads of state, and the Turkic Investment Fund significantly contribute to strengthening strategic and economic ties.

It was noted that Turkiye has made significant investments in Azerbaijan’s economy, and investment cooperation between the two countries is expanding.

It was also emphasized that Azerbaijani investors are determined to act as participants in a unified ecosystem for both countries. It was noted that Azerbaijan has invested up to 20 billion USD in Türkiye's economy.

Turkish companies have been invited to take a more active role in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and to benefit from the offered incentives.

At the business forum, it was emphasized that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is steadily increasing. There is also a rise in transport and transit shipments along the Middle Corridor. Through the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company, which has a capital of $500 million, work is underway on eight projects. It was noted that the launch of the Mirza Ulugh Beg School in the Fuzuli district—built as a gift from the Uzbek people under the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan—and the opening of a sewing factory in Khankendi are true examples of brotherly relations between the two nations.

At the forum, discussions focused on strengthening economic unity between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, enhancing the effectiveness of business partnerships, expanding trade relations, and promoting significant investment projects for the three countries and the region.

At the event, the President of TOBB, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu; the Executive Director of AZPROMO, Yusif Abdullayev; the President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mammad Musayev; the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, Orkhan Mammadov; and the Acting Executive Director of Uzbekistan’s Investment Promotion Agency, Mansurjon Rasulev, shared insights on strengthening economic cooperation between the countries. They discussed increasing trade turnover, enhancing regional transport and logistics potential, and developing joint business collaboration opportunities.

The event continued with B2B format meetings.
