United Nations specialized institutions
The Republic of Azerbaijan is a member of UN since 2 March 1992. During these years, our country has been closely involved in the activities of various UN institutions and represented in wide specter from the General Assembly to the expert level of the organization. The Republic of Azerbaijan was selected as a temporary member of the UN Security Council for the period of 2 years in 2011. In terms of the improvement of the economic relations and integration of Azerbaijan to the organization, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), The United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) and The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) can be noted.
