The development of economic and trade cooperation, the possibility of participation of Czech companies in the development of the "green" energy zone in our liberated territories and other issues were discussed in the meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jozef Sikela.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov pointed out in the meeting with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Jozef Sikela, that the expansion of bilateral relations is important. It was brought to attention that the economic and trade cooperation between our countries is developing. The volume of Azerbaijan-Czech trade turnover has increased many times in January-April of this year. The two countries have also effective cooperation in trade, energy, agriculture and other fields within the framework of the European Union. At the same time, wide opportunities for the expansion of partnership in investment, industry, transport-transit and other fields, export of petrochemical products to the Czech Republic were mentioned too.
Information was provided at the meeting about Azerbaijan's transport and transit opportunities, Alat Free Economic Zone, Baku Shipyard and Baku International Sea Trade Port and it was stated that our country is interested in localization of industrial production, and Czech companies can play an active role in this matter. The favorable business environment of our country, the opportunities created for investors, the projects implemented in our liberated territories, the declaration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions as "green" energy zones were also reported at the event.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jozef Sikela noted that his country considers Azerbaijan a reliable partner in ensuring energy security, and mentioned the wide potential for the development of cooperation in industry, trade, transport-transit, renewable energy and other fields.
The parties discussed the development of economic and trade cooperation and other issues.
