The meeting with the Deputy Executive Secretary of UNECE focused on issues related to advancing partnership within the framework of SPECA.
Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli met with Dmitry Mariyasin, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, as well as the Commission, in promoting sustainable development. UNECE’s support for advancing practical partnership within the framework of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) was noted.
The sides discussed strengthening cooperation under SPECA and the next steps in this direction, the activities of the SPECA Multi-Partner Trust Fund, opportunities to expand the Fund’s donor base, and mobilize additional financial resources.
