Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Italian companies and "Made in Italy" Minister Adolfo Urso.
The Minister of Economy stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Italy, the partnership between our countries is strengthening, and the visits of the heads of state and meetings are of particular importance in expanding relations. It was noted that economic and trade cooperation with Italy, one of the main trade partners of Azerbaijan, is developing. Italian companies operate successfully in our country. Azerbaijan plays an important role in ensuring energy security of Europe. The Southern Gas Corridor, which was put into full operation at the end of 2020, further strengthened the position of our country as an important energy provider in Europe and strengthened the partnership between the participating countries.
Information was provided at the meeting about the favorable business environment of Azerbaijan, and Italian companies were invited to active partnership.
Italian companies and Minister of "Made in Italy" Adolfo Urso noted the expansion of cooperation in the field of non-oil economy, expressed the interest of Italian companies in participating in the projects implemented in our liberated territories, and shared his views on the development of relations.
The parties discussed the current situation and prospects of Azerbaijan-Italy economic relations, possible models of cooperation in industry, pharmaceuticals, construction, railways, education, food and other areas.
