Economic and trade relations developing with Great Britain

The issues on the agenda of economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed in the meeting with the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Baroness Emma Nicholson.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Baroness Emma Nicholson, the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, who is visiting our country.

The Minister of Economy stated that the economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Great Britain has expanded, and various documents signed between our countries have created favorable conditions for the active participation of British investors in various sectors of Azerbaijan's economy. It was noted that Britain is the leader in terms of the volume of investment in Azerbaijan. British companies are also interested in the implementation of "green" energy projects in our liberated territories.

It was stated that great importance is attached to open dialogue and mutual broad exchange of ideas with business representatives, including the British Chambers of Commerce in Azerbaijan. The Chamber contributes to the development of relations between the two countries and effective cooperation in improving the business environment.

Baroness Emma Nicholson noted that her country is interested in the development of economic and trade relations with Azerbaijan, as well as new areas of cooperation. The parties exchanged views on the projects implemented in the field of energy, the creation of a working group between the Ministry of Economy and the British Chambers of Commerce in Azerbaijan, and the participation of British companies in the projects implemented in our territories liberated from occupation.
