Delegation of Azerbaijan is on a visit to the Republic of Turkey

Joint initiatives serving the expansion of economic relations, as well as the prospects of trade partnership were discussed in the meetings held in Turkey.

 

A meeting was held between Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat. Minister Mikayil Jabbarov pointed out at the meeting that relations of brotherhood and alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey speed up cooperation in the economic field and realization of joint initiatives. Turkey is one of Azerbaijan's main trade partners, and the Preferential Trade Agreement between the two countries and the Protocol on amendments to this Agreement give additional impetus to the strengthening of our economic and trade cooperation. A successful investment partnership is being implemented between sister countries; trade turnover is increasing. It was emphasized that the large-scale projects implemented with the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey diversify the regional cooperation and change the landscape of the region. Mikayil Jabbarov reported at the meeting on the economy of Azerbaijan and shared his views on strengthening economic relations with Turkey.

Omer Bolat emphasized the friendly and fraternal relations and strategic partnership of our countries with common values, expressed his views on the directions of strengthening the dialogue between Azerbaijani and Turkish business circles, and drew attention to the importance of fully realizing our economic potential. 

Joint initiatives serving the expansion of economic relations, opportunities for cooperation in the field of transport, modern standardization and technical regulation system were reviewed at the meeting.

The importance of the Azerbaijan-Turkey union in the development of economic partnership was emphasized, and the opportunities for cooperation in the field of promoting mutual investments and supporting entrepreneurship were exchanged in the meeting with the head of the Financial Office of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Göksel Aşan.

It was brought to attention that Azerbaijan-Turkey economic and trade cooperation is developing successfully, globally and regionally important projects in the field of energy and transport are being implemented with the participation of both countries. Our cooperation in economic, trade, finance, insurance, transport and energy fields contribute to the diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

It was noted that the joint activity and close cooperation of business circles will stimulate further deepening of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations and increase of trade turnover and investment between our countries.
