More than 100 million manats were invested, and up to 600 jobs were created in the Industrial Park by the enterprises established in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park on October 23.
A media tour was organized by the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZIA) of the Ministry of Economy for newly started production enterprises in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SKSP).
Media representatives were informed about the general activity of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park and the work done. It was reported that 38 business entities with a total investment of approximately 5.8 billion manats were granted residency status in the Park. So far, more than 5.4 billion manats have been invested in the industrial park by residents. 23 out of 38 registered residents are already active. A total of 9.5 billion manats have been sold up to day by the residents of the Park, of which more than 3.3 billion manats - approximately 35% - are exports. Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park manufactured products worth 2.1 billion manats in 9 months of 2023, of which 674.4 (32%) million manats were exported.
More than 6,600 people are currently employed in SKSP. In addition, it is planned to invest more than 394 million manats in addition to the existing projects in the Industrial Park and create more than 2000 permanent jobs.
It was pointed out that more than 100 million manats have been invested in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park by 3 enterprises - "UPI - Universal Packing Industry" JSC, "Azerbaijan Vanhong Ceramics Co." LLC and "Novus Plastica" LLC- inaugurated by the head of state these days, and about 600 permanent jobs have been created.
It is planned to invest more than 30 million manats and create more than 300 permanent jobs by the established "Chinar-Service" IKF and "Kartash Kimya" LLC. These enterprises are planned to start operating in 2024-2025.
Members of the media visited the ceramic tile production facility of "Azerbaijan Vanhong Ceramics Co" LLC, a resident of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. It was reported that the total investment cost of the enterprise, built on the territory of more than 20 hectares of the Industrial Park, is more than 85 million manats. 484 people were provided with permanent jobs in the enterprise. Ceramic tiles of various sizes (tiles, metlax) are produced at the plant with an annual production capacity of 18 million m2.
Media representatives were informed in the packaging products (corrugated cardboard, file, etc.) production facility of "UPI - Universal Packing Industry" LLC that 20 types of products are produced in the plant with a total investment value of more than 4.8 million manats. 50 people will be provided with permanent jobs in the enterprise at the initial stage. It is planned to increase the number of employees to 65 people in the next stage.
Later, it was brought to the attention of media representatives at the polymer additives production facility of "Novus Plastica" LLC that the plant was built on the territory of 3.5 hectares of the Industrial Park, and it produces two types of carbon black concentrate additives for polyethylene pipes and polyethylene coatings used in industrial packaging. Up to 50 people will be provided with permanent jobs in the enterprise with an investment capital of more than 12.1 million manats.
Media representatives were also informed about the projects of other residents of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.
