Panel held on "Green energy and smart city" as part of Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum

A panel meeting on "Green energy and smart city" was organized as part of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum held on December 21.

Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Samir Valiyev, President of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Nevzat Shatıroglu, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Ilgar Isbatov, chairman of "PMD Projects" LLC Nariman Topchubashov made a speech at the event moderated by the general director of "Kolin Construction Azerbaijan", chairman of the World Turkish Business Council in Azerbaijan, Barısh Altiparmak.   

It was reported that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which are brother countries, are getting stronger with the principle of strategic partnership. The bilateral and regional benefits of energy cooperation between our countries and the contribution of mega projects to regional security and prosperity were emphasized at the event. It was noted that fertile conditions have been created for the implementation of joint projects on the transition to "green" energy, environmentally friendly production and ensuring energy efficiency.

Opinions on the decarbonization goals of our country, the implementation of regional energy security and the promotion of the use of profitable technologies were discussed within the framework of the panel. Information was provided on the projects carried out in the direction of intensification of the efficient use of renewable energy sources, the application of mechanisms in accordance with the "smart city" concept and innovative development trends in our territories liberated from occupation.

Discussions were held on the importance of transition to "green energy", digitalization of cities, electronicization of services, investment opportunities in the construction sector of Azerbaijan, investment opportunities in the field of renewable energy, bilateral cooperation opportunities and prospects of potential partnership were kept in mind.
