On September 9, a meeting was held in the form of a videoconference of the Working Group "Entering into Business" of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings.
Vusal Shikhaliyev, Head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, Head of the Unit for Monitoring, Coordination and Evaluation of Economic Reforms of the Economic Policy and Industry Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Samira Musayeva, Head of the Working Group, Deputy Head of the State Tax Service welcomed the members of the Group and invited experts, and briefed them on the agenda of the meeting.
The meeting provided information about the World Bank Group's "Enabling Business Environment" project, noting that it aims at evaluating establishment of business, especially start-ups, local and foreign private companies. The meeting further underlined that issues such as the international aspects of this area, covering a wider range of the Entering into Business indicator, the registration of foreign private companies in the country along with local companies, as well as the availability of digital public services to start-ups and ensuring information transparency were evaluated.
The meeting provided information on the efforts made to draft a diagnostic matrix for the “Entering into Business” indicator of the “Enabling Business Environment” project and a Roadmap for implementing improvements in the relevant area, and also discussed upcoming tasks. During the discussions, an exchange of views took place on the measures that need to be implemented to improve the business environment in the country and achieve high results in international rankings, including the submission of proposals. It was decided to draft and submit accordingly the final Roadmap in a short time in line with the established work plan, taking into account the proposals of other institutions.
