Minister Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized the development of relations between our countries and the expansion of relations in various fields of the economy. It was reported that effective trade-investment cooperation is being carried out with the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is the country that invests the most in Azerbaijan.
Information was provided at the meeting on measures and achievements in the direction of creating renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, cooperation initiatives with the countries of the region in the field of "green" energy, and it was brought to attention that SOCAR took a voluntary commitment to reduce methane emissions to zero. The importance of the activity of the working group between the Ministry of Economy and the British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan in the expansion of economic partnership was emphasized.
Lord Malcolm Offord mentioned that his country attaches importance to the development of economic and trade relations with Azerbaijan, new areas of cooperation, opportunities for joint initiatives.
The issues of organizing the Investment Forum planned for next year in London, stimulating joint activity in the fields of energy and decarbonization, and supporting mutual initiatives in the fields of export, investment, and trade were discussed at the meeting.
