A panel meeting on the topic "The role of transport and logistics centers in increasing bilateral trade turnover" was organized within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum.
Chairman of State Customs Committee Shahin Bagirov, Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey Ozgur Volkan Agar, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Humbatov, General Director of "Ikra Logistik" Akın Konyar, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Natig Hasanov, Fatih Sener, vice-chairman of the International Transporters' Association, participated in the discussions within the event at the panel meeting.
The importance of friendship and fraternal relations between our countries with common values, our strategic alliance was emphasized, and ideas were exchanged on the directions of strengthening the cooperation portfolio at the event moderated by Kamran Habibov, chairman of the Association of Transport Forwarding Companies of Azerbaijan.
It was mentioned that researching and realizing new opportunities for cooperation can make important contributions to the sustainable development of the economy of our countries and close integration into the global economy. The geo-economic importance of the location of Azerbaijan and Turkey on important transport junctions, the use of the opportunities of transport corridors and potential projects was emphasized in the panel session.
In order to achieve the goals, set by our heads of state, the potential opportunities of port infrastructure in increasing mutual supply in the direction of further development of mutual trade, the modernization of checkpoints, effective use of the opportunities of the Middle Corridor, the status and development prospects of mutual trade under the Preferential Trade Agreement, opportunities for investment in Azerbaijan in the field of transport, the role of transport and logistics corridors in the development of SMEs was discussed at the event.
